Ann Sutton
I am a visual artist - a painter and printmaker who also works in three dimensions. My practice explores the themes of sleep, dreams and memories from the perspective of visual perception. I am interested in the pictures we create in our heads, especially those vivid images that are seared into our minds and are associated with the most intense emotional experience.
Through the use of mixed media and layering techniques with paint and print of differing transparency, I create a complex visual puzzle through which glimpses of illusory landscapes can be seen, combining the surreal with a more sinister reality.
I live and work in Glasgow and am a Member of the Society of Scottish Artists and the Glasgow Print Studio
