Degree Show June 8th 2013

I am writing this at the end of the first day of the public viewing of my year group degree show at The Glasgow School of Art. After such an intensive period of creative work in the final year of a 4 year course I hadn't expected to be so overwhelmed by the sheer excitement of getting the show together with my fellow students in Fine Art. Such a delight to discuss my work with so many people from outside the art school world and to find that they like what I have been doing, so much so that most of the pieces on display have been sold. This will certainly help to cover some of the cost of materials and start me off with the rent for my attic studio in the west end. I am moving in later this month and can't wait to get started on some new work. The RSA-NC award gives me an exhibition to aim for early next year. All in all an unbelievable week and there are still 7 days of the show to go!
